Instructional guide lets children follow Poppleton the pig as he explores winter through amusing activities and games with his friends and neighbors. This guide for literature was created as a support tool and helps familiarize young readers with this delightful story about friendship while adding rigor to their explorations of rich, complex literature. Rigorous yet engaging, cross-curricular lesson activities are correlated to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and encourage early learners to analyze the story elements in multiple ways, practice close reading and text-based vocabulary, determine meaning through text-dependent questions and more. Guide is designed for children in kindergarten through third-grade.
